Nebljusi is located in the eastern part of the Lika region, positioned in the untouched nature of the Plješivica mountain massif. Historically, Nebljusi was part of the Military Frontier (Vojna krajina), which shaped people's lives for centuries. The architecture is simple and functional, often built from local stone and wood. In the surroundings, traces of old fortifications can be found, which once served as defense against Ottoman incursions. Local gastronomy is typical for Lika: hearty and simple. Famous is the Lika potato (Lički krumpir) and Škripavac cheese. Meat dishes from lamb or pork are often prepared over an open fire.
