Water temperature…
Mokošica is situated on the northern bank of the Rijeka Dubrovačka, just a few kilometers from the historic center of Dubrovnik. This area was historically a favored retreat for the Ragusan nobility, who built magnificent summer villas along the riverbanks during the 15th and 16th centuries. Today, it is divided into the older coastal part (Stara Mokošica) and the modern residential area (Nova Mokošica) built on the slopes above. The Rijeka Dubrovačka is one of the shortest rivers in the world, with its source located under a massive cliff. Visitors can explore the ruins of the Gučetić-Đurđević villa or enjoy a peaceful walk along the waterfront. The area has a calmer alternative to the bustling city of Dubrovnik, with local bus lines providing quick access to the Old Town. For sports enthusiasts, the nearby marina in Komolac provides excellent facilities. The surrounding hills offer hiking trails with panoramic views of the Adriatic and the Elafiti Islands. Local cuisine reflects the tradition of the Dubrovnik region, featuring fresh seafood, olive oil, and slow-cooked meat dishes known as 'peka', prepared with wild herbs from the karst landscape.
