Metohija is situated in the narrow part of the Pelješac peninsula, strategically located along the main road leading towards Orebić. The village is deeply rooted in wine-growing traditions and provides visitors insights into the production of the famous Plavac Mali wines. The hilly environment with its dry stone walls and terraced vineyards is characteristic of this part of Southern Dalmatia. Just a few minutes' drive away are the medieval walls of Ston and the ancient salt pans, which are among the oldest in Europe. Metohija often serves as a quiet base for exploring nearby bays like Prapratno, known for its sandy beach and crystal-clear water. The atmosphere in the village is rustic and undisturbed by mass tourism. For foodies, the region features freshly caught oysters and mussels from the Bay of Mali Ston in addition to wine. Hiking trails lead from Metohija up into the mountains, offering spectacular views of the Korčula archipelago and the mainland. Access has become significantly easier since the opening of the Pelješac Bridge, as the Neum border crossing can be bypassed.
