Kaštel Žegarski is located deep in the Dalmatian hinterland, where the Zrmanja River follows its wildest course. The village is world-famous among active travelers, as most rafting and kayaking tours through the Zrmanja Canyon begin here. The landscape is characterized by barren karst, which stands in stark contrast to the emerald green water of the river. Nearby is the 14th-century Orthodox Krupa Monastery, a cultural gem of the region. Visitors appreciate the untouched nature and the tranquility away from the coastal towns.
