Gornje Raštane is located in the fertile plain of Ravni Kotari, a region that has formed the agricultural center of Northern Dalmatia for centuries. The village is handy for travelers looking for an authentic rural atmosphere while still appreciating the proximity to the coast. Biograd na Moru and the beaches of the Adriatic are just a few kilometers away. The landscape is characterized by olive groves, vineyards, and orchards that take advantage of the mild Mediterranean climate. The architecture of the village shows typical Dalmatian stone houses, many of which have been carefully restored. In the surrounding area, there are numerous cycling and hiking trails leading through the flat to gently rolling landscape. The local population is proud of their production of wine (especially the Maraština variety) and first-class olive oil. Gornje Raštane has peace away from mass tourism and is an excellent starting point to explore the nearby Krka National Park or the Vrana Lake Nature Park.
