Kraljičina plaža

Kraljičina plaža, or Queen's Beach, is an iconic 3-kilometer stretch of pure sand located near the historic town of Nin in the Zadar region. Legend has it that the first Croatian king, Tomislav, and his queen used to vacation here, captivated by its beauty. The beach is famous for its breathtaking views of the Velebit mountain range across the water, creating a stunning contrast between the rugged mountains and the soft, golden sands.

The lagoon setting means the waters are uniquely sheltered, calm, and extraordinarily shallow. Visitors often have to walk dozens of meters into the sea before the water reaches above their knees, making the sea noticeably warmer here than in other parts of the Adriatic. It's a tropical-like oasis right in the heart of Dalmatia, surrounded by untouched nature and grassy dunes.

Beyond its visual appeal, Kraljičina plaža is renowned for its medicinal peloid mud (ljekovito blato), located right next to the beach. Visitors of all ages cover themselves in the dark mud, which is believed to soothe joint pain and skin conditions, before washing it off in the shallow sea. This combination of spectacular scenery, warm sandy shallows, and natural wellness makes it an unforgettable destination.
