Weather…

The Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino is a 17th-century hacienda located in Santa Marta, primarily recognized as the deathplace of the South American liberator Simón Bolívar. Established in 1608 by Francisco de Godoy, the estate flourished for centuries as a center for sugarcane cultivation and the production of rum and honey. Bolívar arrived at the villa in December 1830, suffering from tuberculosis, and passed away on December 17 under the care of the Spanish landowner Joaquín de Mier. Today, the site functions as a major national monument and museum, housing the 'Altar de la Patria', a grand neoclassical structure built to commemorate Bolívar's legacy. The complex features well-preserved colonial buildings, including the main house, the chapel, and the historical production facilities known as the 'Trapiche'. It also hosts the Bolivarian Museum of Contemporary Art, which displays works from the nations liberated by Bolívar. Surrounded by century-old trees and lush gardens, the Quinta gives visitors a profound look into the final days of the man who shaped the modern geopolitical landscape of South America.
