Visiting
The Chiefdom of Bandjoun is an impressive traditional compound of the Bamileke people, open to visitors. The richly decorated wood carvings and imposing thatched roofs can be seen on a guided tour.

The compound is typically open daily from 8 AM to 5 PM, with guided tours usually offered every hour. It is best to arrive in the morning to avoid the midday heat.
Photography
Photography is allowed during the tour, but not in the chief's private rooms. The intricate wood carvings on doors and pillars are especially photogenic - make use of the opportunity.
Time needed
A guided tour usually lasts about one hour. If you want to explore the surroundings and the wood carving workshops, add another 30 minutes.
