Telfs is a growing market town in Tyrol, located about 27 kilometers west of the regional capital Innsbruck in the Inn Valley. It is the third-largest municipality in Tyrol and a major economic hub for the Upper Inn Valley. Historically, Telfs was first documented in 1133 and evolved into a significant site for the textile industry during the 19th century. A cultural landmark of international renown is the "Telfer Schleicherlaufen," a traditional Carnival parade held every five years, which is inscribed on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list. Geographically, the town is overlooked by the imposing massif of the Hohe Munde, offering numerous opportunities for mountain sports and hiking. The architecture in the town center blends traditional Tyrolean styles with modern elements, such as the contemporary sports and events center. Telfs is also characterized by its religious diversity, prominently displayed by the Eyüp Sultan Mosque with its minaret. Today, the municipality is a spirited place with a robust social and cultural infrastructure.
