Stepanavan Dendropark (Armenia)

Weather…

Stepanavan Dendropark, also known as Sochut, is the first botanical forest reserve in Armenia and one of the most impressive botanical collections in the Caucasus. It was founded in 1931 by Polish biologist Edmon Leonowicz and covers an area of 35 hectares. The park is located in the Lori province on a plateau at an altitude of about 1,550 meters, offering a unique microclimate. The collection includes over 500 introduced plant species from around the world, which blend harmoniously into the natural deciduous forest. The park is particularly famous for its conifer collection. The dense forests, clean air, and dramatic scenery make it a popular destination for recreation and scientific study, especially during the spring bloom.
