Old Reig Tobacco Factory

The Old Reig Tobacco Factory (Antiga Fàbrica Reig) in Sant Julià de Lòria is a premier example of Andorra's early industrial heritage. Constructed in 1909, the factory was the production hub for the Reig family, one of the most prominent economic dynasties in the country. Tobacco cultivation and manufacturing were the primary pillars of the Andorran economy until the mid-20th century, and this facility represents the height of that era. Since 2003, the building has housed the Tobacco Museum (Museu del Tabac), offering a detailed look at the traditional processes of drying, fermenting, and hand-crafting cigars. The architecture features a functional industrial design integrated with local stone and wood, preserving the history of a sector that laid the groundwork for modern Andorran commerce before the tourism boom.
