Visiting
The main campus of the University of Zambia on Great East Road is open to the public, though access to the interior of buildings is controlled. The vast expanse with green areas and iconic buildings invites a stroll.

The campus is typically open on weekdays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. On Saturdays access is often restricted and closed on Sundays, so a weekday visit is handy.

Photography of the outdoor areas is allowed; inside buildings it is usually not permitted without prior approval. Be respectful towards students and academic activities.
Time needed
A walk around the main campus takes about one hour. If you wish to visit the various faculties and the library, allow two hours.
