Pác Bó Cave (Vietnam)

Weather…

Pác Bó Cave in Cao Bằng Province is a site of immense symbolic significance in modern Vietnamese history. After 30 years in exile, Ho Chi Minh returned to Vietnam at this exact location, crossing the border from China on February 8, 1941. In the seclusion of the cave and surrounding forests, he lived and worked while formulating the strategy for the revolutionary struggle against French colonial rule and Japanese occupation. Ho Chi Minh gave poetic names to the surrounding geographic features, naming the clear stream 'Lenin Stream' and the prominent mountain 'Karl Marx Mountain.' In May 1941, the decisive 8th Plenary Session of the Communist Party was held here, where the decision to establish the Viet Minh Front was made. Today, the entire Pác Bó complex is a national historic site, impressing visitors with its natural beauty and its deep connection to the origins of the Vietnamese revolution.
