The Angren Free Economic Zone was established in 2012 in the Tashkent industrial region to optimize the use of natural resources and existing infrastructure in the Angren Valley. The zone is a major center for mining, power generation, and the production of construction materials. A standout project within the FEZ is the 'Birinchi Rezinotekhnika Zavodi' plant, which realized Uzbekistan's first large-scale tire production. Investors in Angren benefit from proximity to the country's largest coal deposits and excellent transport links via the new Angren-Pap railway line. This enables rapid access to the Fergana Valley and international trade routes to China. The zone's focus is on attracting value-added industries that process local raw materials and replace imports with domestic products.
