Port Rashid (United Arab Emirates)

Weather…

Port Rashid, also referred to as Mina Rashid, opened in 1972 as Dubai's first deep-water port, fundamentally altering the region's maritime trade capabilities. At its inception, the port featured a 13-meter draft that allowed it to accommodate the world's largest cargo vessels of that era. It played a critical role in Dubai's transition from a regional trading post to a global commercial powerhouse before the development of Jebel Ali Port. Over the decades, the facility expanded to include 35 berths and extensive cargo handling infrastructure. In recent years, Port Rashid has successfully pivoted towards becoming a premier destination for luxury cruise tourism. It is home to the award-winning Hamdan bin Mohammed Cruise Terminal, which can handle multiple mega-cruise ships simultaneously. The surrounding area is currently being redeveloped into a high-end coastal community featuring residential towers and a marina for 500 yachts. Strategically located near the historic center of Dubai, Port Rashid continues to serve as a vital maritime gateway and a symbol of the city's seafaring heritage.
