Palm Jumeirah (United Arab Emirates)

Weather…

Palm Jumeirah is an artificial archipelago in Dubai, created through land reclamation in the Persian Gulf and shaped like a stylized palm tree. Developed by the real estate company Nakheel, the project began in 2001 and was opened to the first residents in 2006. The structure consists of a two-kilometer trunk, 16 fronds, and an eleven-kilometer crescent-shaped breakwater that protects the island from tides and currents. More than 94 million cubic meters of sand and seven million tons of rock were used for the construction, with GPS technology employed to ensure precise material placement. The island is home to numerous luxury hotels, including the famous Atlantis The Palm, as well as private villas and apartment complexes. An automated monorail system connects the base of the palm to the outer crescent. Palm Jumeirah is recognized as one of the world's largest and most complex engineering feats in marine architecture.
