Rivne Nuclear Power Plant (Ukraine)

Weather…

The Rivne Nuclear Power Plant (NPP), located near the town of Varash in the Rivne region, is one of the most important pillars of Ukrainian electricity generation. It was the country's first power plant to employ VVER-440 reactor technology, with operations commencing as early as 1980. Today, the facility features a total of four reactors, two VVER-440 units and two more modern VVER-1000 units, with a total capacity exceeding 2,800 megawatts. The plant is distinguished by an exemplary safety record and continuous modernizations conducted in close cooperation with international partners such as the EU and the IAEA. Geographically, the facility is optimally positioned in the northwest of the country to serve both industrial centers and the export market. The plant's distinctive cooling towers are visible from afar and symbolize the technological progress of the region. Rivne NPP makes a crucial contribution to Ukraine's low-carbon energy production and ensures the stability of the national grid.
