Livadia Palace (Ukraine)

Weather…

Livadia Palace, located near Yalta, was the final summer residence of the last Russian Tsar, Nicholas II, and stands as a prime example of Neo-Renaissance architecture. Constructed between 1910 and 1911 by architect Nikolay Krasnov using white Inkerman limestone, the palace replaced an earlier 19th-century structure. It achieved global historical prominence in February 1945 as the site of the Yalta Conference, where world leaders Joseph Stalin, Franklin D. Roosevelt, and Winston Churchill met to discuss the post-war reorganization of Europe. The White Hall, where the main sessions occurred, remains preserved in its original 1945 condition. The complex features an elegant Italian Courtyard, an Arabic Courtyard, and the Church of the Exaltation of the Cross. Surrounded by vast subtropical gardens, the palace features panoramic views of the Black Sea coast. Today, it operates as a museum with permanent exhibitions focusing on both the Romanov family's life and the pivotal diplomatic events of World War II.
