Doi Luang Chiang Dao is a remarkable feature of the geography and culture of Thailand. A distinctive limestone mountain in northern Thailand, considered the country's third highest and part of a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve. Elevation of 2,225 meters. The name means 'Grand Mountain of the City of Stars'. Home to over 300 bird species. This landform shapes the topography of Thailand, from the northern mountains to the coastal plains along the Gulf of Thailand. Like many notable places in Thailand, it combines regional character with the legacy of the Chao Phraya, the Mekong and Buddhist tradition.
