Ko Chang
Ko Chang, often called 'Elephant Island' due to its shape, is a remarkable jewel in the Gulf of Thailand and part of the Mu Ko Chang National Park. Visitors are drawn to its rugged beauty, where steep, jungle-clad mountains meet pristine white sand beaches like Hat Sai Khao and Lonely Beach. It is the excellent destination for those seeking a mix of adventure, from hiking to hidden waterfalls like Klong Plu, and pure relaxation under swaying palms. The island's gastronomy is a highlight, featuring incredibly fresh seafood served in traditional stilt-house villages like Bang Bao. Beyond the plate, the natural environment has world-class snorkeling and diving opportunities in the surrounding coral reefs. Reaching the island involves a flight or bus to Trat followed by a scenic ferry ride across the turquoise waters. The best time to visit is between November and February when the weather is cool and dry.
