Lake Victoria (Tanzania)

Weather…

Lake Victoria is Africa's largest lake and the largest tropical lake in the world, covering an area of approximately 68,800 square kilometers. It is shared by Tanzania, Uganda, and Kenya, with Tanzania holding the largest portion at 49%. The lake was sighted by British explorer John Hanning Speke in 1858 during his quest to find the source of the Nile. It serves as the primary reservoir for the White Nile and is vital to the regional economy through fishing and maritime transport. Biologically, the lake is famous for its immense diversity of cichlid fish, although invasive species like the Nile perch have significantly altered the ecosystem. With a maximum depth of only 84 meters, it is relatively shallow compared to other Great African Lakes but holds a massive volume of water.
