Dar es Salaam Port (Tanzania)

Weather…

The Port of Dar es Salaam is Tanzania's most important economic gateway and one of the most significant ports on the East African coast. It handles approximately 95 percent of the country's international trade flows and serves as a crucial transit point for landlocked nations such as Zambia, Malawi, Rwanda, and Burundi. With a total of 11 deep-water berths, the facility has an annual handling capacity of over 14 million tons of cargo. Extensive modernization measures have been carried out in recent years, including deepening the access channel and expanding container terminals through the Tanzania Intermodal and Rail Development Project. The port is managed by the Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA) and is directly connected to the hinterland via the TAZARA and Central Line railway networks. It plays a central role in the economic stability of the entire region and is continuously expanded to meet global trade demands.
