Nuci is a commune located in the northeastern extremity of Ilfov County, Romania, situated on the border with Ialomița and Prahova counties. It consists of five villages: Balta Neagră, Merii Petchii, Micșuneștii-Greci, Micșuneștii Mari, and the administrative center, Nuci. The area is characterized by its proximity to the Ialomița River and the presence of vast agricultural lands and remnant forests of the ancient Codrii Vlăsiei. Historically, the locality was part of the Snagov estate and features several old orthodox churches, such as the Saint Nicholas Church in Nuci, built in the 19th century. The commune has maintained a predominantly rural character, though it has seen some modernization due to its relative proximity to Bucharest and the A3 motorway.
