Balotești is located in northern Ilfov County, directly along the DN1 national road, and has evolved into a major center for leisure and recreation. The commune consists of the villages of Balotești, Dumbrăveni, and Săftica. In recent years, Balotești has gained international attention through attractions such as the Therme București wellness center and the Edenland adventure park. The landscape is defined by the former Vlăsia Forests and several lakes formed by the Vlăsia River. Historically, the area was known for its noble estates, evidenced today by the Săftica manor. Balotești gives a blend of rural tranquility and modern tourist facilities, making it one of the most visited day-trip destinations in the Ilfov region. Its excellent connectivity to Otopeni Airport and Bucharest city center supports its steady growth as a preferred residential neighborhood.
