Getting there
The peninsula is accessible from Doha via the Dukhan Highway but requires a 4WD vehicle for the final kilometers. The route leads through desert terrain to the remote coastal sections of the area.
Best season
The best time to visit the area is during the winter months from November to March when temperatures are moderate. In summer, the extreme desert heat can make staying outdoors dangerous.

The landscape consists of sandy ground, rugged limestone cliffs, and lonely beaches. The terrain is vast and provides fascinating rock formations that sometimes drop steeply towards the sea.
What to bring
Bring plenty of drinking water, sun protection, and shade-providing gear, as there are no facilities on-site. Sturdy footwear is advisable for exploring the sharp limestone rocks and sandy areas.
