Świdnik is a city with its head in the clouds, inextricably linked to Polish aviation. Established as a town in the post-WWII era, its development was driven by the WSK PZL-Świdnik communication equipment and helicopter factory. This factory has produced thousands of helicopters, including the famous PZL Mi-2 and PZL W-3 Sokół, used worldwide. The city's identity is so tied to aviation that even its layout was planned with the factory at its center. A must-see is the outdoor exhibition of aircraft next to the factory. In recent years, Świdnik has become the gateway to the Lublin region with the opening of Lublin Airport (LUZ), a modern facility serving domestic and international flights. While a new city, it has an animated cultural life, with a cinema, cultural center, and numerous events. Its proximity to the historic city of Lublin, just 10 km away, makes it a convenient base for exploring the region. The best way to get there is by flying into Lublin Airport directly.
