Minga Guazú is a major agro-industrial hub in the Alto Paraná Department, located about 20 kilometers west of Ciudad del Este. The city was established on May 14, 1958, following the initiative of Father Guido Coronel, who introduced the concept of 'Minga', communal voluntary work, to develop the region. Today, the city is home to the Guaraní International Airport, the second most important airport in Paraguay. Minga Guazú is characterized by its organized urban planning and strong cooperative foundations. Its economy is dominated by the processing of agricultural commodities such as soybeans, corn, and wheat. Each year, it hosts the Expo Minga Guazú, showcasing technological advancements in the agricultural sector. The city is regarded as a prime example of successful community-based settlement development in Paraguay. Its location along Route PY02 provides excellent connectivity to the national transport network.
