The Euromast in Rotterdam is one of the most recognizable landmarks in the Netherlands, built in 1960 to commemorate the first Floriade international garden festival. Designed by architect Hugh Maaskant, the tower originally stood 101 meters tall and was a symbol of the city's post-war reconstruction and maritime ambition. To maintain its status as the city's tallest building, the 'Space Tower' was added in 1970, increasing its total height to 185 meters. Visitors can take an elevator to the observation deck and the panoramic restaurant, which offer sweeping views of the Port of Rotterdam and, on clear days, as far as The Hague and Antwerp. A unique feature is the 'Euroscoop,' a rotating glass elevator that takes guests to the very top. For thrill-seekers, the Euromast is the only place in Europe where you can abseil or zip-wire from such a significant height. It is now a protected national monument.
The most pleasant time to visit is Jun–Aug.
