Ponta Malongane
Ponta Malongane, located just a few kilometers north of Ponta do Ouro, has a more nature-focused and quieter alternative to its livelier neighbor. The village is famous for its beautiful campsite, positioned directly under a dense canopy of ancient coastal trees, providing a unique forest-beach vibe. For divers, Malongane is an absolute must. Offshore reefs like 'Bass City' are world-renowned for their diversity of marine life, including giant groupers and colorful tropical fish. The waters are also excellent for dolphin encounters and seasonal whale watching. The pristine nature of the village invites long beach walks and explorations into the surrounding dune landscape. The atmosphere is rustic and laid-back, handy for adventurers and families. Since the village streets consist of deep sand, a 4x4 vehicle is mandatory. The best time for diving and pleasant weather is from May to September, while the summer months (December/January) are particularly popular with campers.
