Nishiizu is a welcoming town located on the western coast of the Izu Peninsula in Shizuoka Prefecture, famously dubbed the 'Town of Sunsets.' Its rugged coastline has some of Japan's most dramatic scenery, featuring unique rock formations and crystal-clear waters. Toi Beach is the region's premier sandy stretch, handy for swimming and sunbathing. For those who love the underwater world, Tagosebama Beach (田子瀬浜海水浴場) is, offering exceptional snorkeling opportunities in its transparent waters. Visitors can also relax at Futo Beach or the serene Norihama Beach, both known for their natural beauty. The Otago Coastline and Kanjyama Beach provide remarkable vistas, while the Sehama Coast provides a tranquil escape. One of the highlights of Nishiizu is Dogashima, home to the Tensodo sea cave where sunlight creates a magical glow on the water.
