Toumodi is a dynamic city in the heart of Ivory Coast and serves as the capital of the Bélier Region. The city is strategically positioned on the A3 motorway, only about 40 kilometers south of the political capital, Yamoussoukro. Toumodi is a significant trading hub for agricultural products from the fertile surrounding areas, particularly yams, bananas, and cocoa. Historically, the town played a role as a transit point during the colonial era and has since developed into a major administrative center. The population is predominantly influenced by the Baule ethnic group, whose traditions and social structures define daily life. Numerous plantations and small-scale gold mines are found in the vicinity of Toumodi, contributing to local prosperity. The city is renowned for its lively markets and hospitality.
