Lido di Latina is the coastal extension of the city of Latina, running along the Tyrrhenian Sea in the Lazio region. Known for its extensive stretches of golden sand, it is set against the unique backdrop of the Circeo National Park. The coastline is particularly notable for its natural beauty, featuring wild coastal dunes covered in Mediterranean scrub, which separate the beach from the serene coastal lakes just inland. It is a favored summer destination for locals and tourists seeking wide-open beaches. The lido is highly organized, dotted with numerous beach clubs (stabilimenti) that provide excellent services. Sun-seekers can rent umbrellas and sunbeds at Tortuga Beach, Totem, and Lido Nolivè. For an animated atmosphere with music and activities, Gente di Mare, Leolo, and Tropicana are excellent choices. Families often frequent the well-equipped facilities at Lido del Sandalo, Kusi, and Lido Circello, where calm waters and sandy bottoms make for safe swimming. Further along the coast, visitors can relax at Lido Abracadabra, Cancun, and Piccola Duna. Between these private clubs, there are ample stretches of 'spiaggia libera' (free beach) where you can lay down a towel amidst the natural dunes. In the evening, the coastal road (Lungomare) buzzes with life as beach bars transition into lively sunset spots, and local restaurants serve up delicious Roman and Pontine seafood specialties.
