💡 Tips
- The town is split between the medieval hilltop village and the coastal area; you'll need transport to move between them easily.
- Explore the 11th-century castle in the upper town for beautiful views over the Tuscan coastline.
- Be aware of the "White Beaches" (Spiagge Bianche) nearby; while visually striking, the white sand is a result of nearby industrial facilities. For natural coves, head to Castiglioncello.
- Parking near the rocky coves in summer can be difficult; arrive early or use local shuttle services if available.

Rosignano Marittimo is located in the Tuscan province of Livorno, stretching from a historic hilltop center down to the Etruscan Coast. The town's structure is defined by its 11th-century castle and the narrow streets winding around it. The coastal strip includes several well-known resorts, such as Castiglioncello. The local beaches offer great geological diversity. The rocky Spiaggia del Fortullino and Spiaggia le Forbici are popular for snorkeling, while Spiaggia del Quercetano and Spiaggia dell'arancio provide more sandy sections. Other coastal spots include Spiaggia di Santa Lucia and Spiaggia Cianciafera, which are surrounded by Mediterranean vegetation. Alongside tourism, hillside agriculture plays an important role in the local economy. The gastronomy combines fresh fish from the Tyrrhenian Sea with Tuscan wines and olive oil from the surrounding countryside. The coastal railway station provides a direct connection to Pisa and Rome.
