Luk Keng Chan Uk
Luk Keng Chan Uk is situated in the remote northeastern corner of the New Territories, near the mainland China border. This hillside location provides some of Hong Kong's most scenic vistas, overlooking the tranquil waters of Starling Inlet (Sha Tau Kok Hoi) and the town of Sha Tau Kok. The area is ecologically significant, characterized by extensive wetlands and mangroves that serve as vital nesting grounds for various bird species, including egrets and herons. At the foot of the hill lies the historic Luk Keng village, established centuries ago by the Chan clan, where some traditional houses still stand.
