Limenaria is an animated and scenic coastal town located on the southern part of Thassos island in Greece. As the second largest settlement on the island, it has a rich history tied to its early 20th-century mining era. The town's skyline is dominated by the 'Palataki' (Little Palace), an impressive yellow mansion perched on a rocky promontory, built by the German Speidel mining company. Limenaria has an enchanting mix of authentic Greek island life and excellent tourist facilities. The town provides a wonderful coastline with crystal-clear Aegean waters. The main beach, simply named Λιμενάρια (Limenaria), stretches along the town center and features golden sands, organized sunbeds, and easy access to seaside cafes. Just a short distance away lies the spectacular Trypiti beach, famous for its natural cave-like opening in the rocks and long stretch of sand and pebbles, handy for swimming and snorkeling. Along the welcoming harbor and the lively pedestrian promenade, visitors will find an abundance of traditional tavernas serving fresh seafood, local lamb dishes, and Thassian honey. The narrow streets are filled with souvenir shops and spirited bars. Limenaria's welcoming atmosphere, combined with its historical landmarks and remarkable beaches, makes it a prime destination for an unforgettable Greek holiday.
