Easily accessible spots near the main port include Spilia, Avlaki, and Kamínia. Further along the coast, visitors can reach Plakes, Mandraki, and Ag. Nikolas. On the western and southern sides, Kaoumithi, Paralia Bisti, and Bisti offer more secluded swimming locations, often accessed by boat. The local economy is driven primarily by tourism and the arts, with a significant history of attracting painters and writers since the 1960s.
