Following the textile decline, Gronau successfully rebranded itself as a city of music, largely inspired by its most famous son, the rock legend Udo Lindenberg. The city is home to the rock'n'popmuseum, a one-of-a-kind interactive experience located in a former industrial site that chronicles the evolution of modern music.
