Water temperature…
Located in the center of the East Frisian peninsula, Wiesmoor has made an animated name for itself as the regional flower city. As the youngest town in East Frisia, it was only established in the twentieth century through the industrial development of the surrounding raised bogs. Today, the Peat and Settlement Museum, complete with original peat digger huts, vividly recalls the arduous labor of the early bog pioneers. The absolute tourist pride of the town, however, is the massive Flower Hall and its adjacent garden park, where tens of thousands of flowering plants bloom in full splendor all year round. Every September, this botanical passion culminates in the grand Blossom Festival, featuring elaborately decorated floral floats parading through the streets. Instead of medieval churches, modern greenhouse technology defines the local surroundings. Numerous canals crisscross the landscape, inviting visitors for leisurely boat rides and offering a unique contrast to the rough coastal nature.
