💡 Tips

  • Check the tide schedule before visiting the harbor; the Wadden Sea mudflats dry out entirely at low tide.
  • Greet locals with a friendly 'Moin' at any time of the day-it is the standard maritime greeting here.
  • Rent a bicycle to explore the completely flat coastal paths, but be prepared for stiff westerly winds.
  • Park near the historic harbor for a stroll, but always keep an eye out for flood warning signs during stormy weather.
