Batumi Botanical Garden (Georgia)

Weather…

The Batumi Botanical Garden, established in 1912 by Russian botanist Andrei Krasnov, spans 108 hectares along the Black Sea coast, 9 km north of Batumi. It houses over 5,000 plant species from global regions, organized into nine phyto-geographic sections such as Caucasus, Mediterranean, and East Asia. The garden features a 2 km coastal promenade lined with century-old cypresses and palms. Its elevation ranges from sea level to 220 meters, creating diverse microclimates that support both subtropical and temperate flora. Since 1998, the garden has been a protected natural monument, serving as a research center for plant conservation and adaptation. The mild climate allows many species to thrive that would not survive elsewhere in Georgia.
