Sette Cama is a historic fishing village and a major ecotourism destination in southwestern Gabon, located in the Nyanga province at the southern tip of Loango National Park. The settlement is spectacularly positioned where the Ndogo Lagoon meets the Atlantic Ocean, surrounded by pristine beaches and primary rainforests. During the colonial era, Sette Cama served as a significant trading post for timber and ivory, with the ruins of old trading houses still providing a glimpse into its past. Today, Sette Cama is world-famous for its extraordinary biodiversity, including the legendary "surfing hippos" and humpback whales visible off the coast during migration seasons. The region features premier opportunities for sport fishing and wildlife viewing, featuring forest elephants, gorillas, and buffaloes that frequently roam onto the beaches. Due to its remote location, access is primarily by boat from Gamba, which has helped preserve its untouched character. Sette Cama is considered one of Africa's last true wildernesses where the jungle directly meets the ocean.
