Ingré is a growing municipality on the western edge of the Orléans metropolitan area in the Loiret department. The town has a long agricultural history, with viticulture being the dominant economic driver until the early 20th century. A unique feature of Ingré is its numerous troglodyte houses (Maisons Troglodytes) carved into the limestone, some of which are still used today as wine cellars or residences. Geographically, the town is situated in the Beauce plain, near the Loire Valley. Over the last few decades, Ingré has evolved from a rural village into an attractive residential community with modern infrastructure and a lively community life. Today, the economy is shaped by industrial zones and the town's proximity to major employers in Orléans, while the town center still preserves historic buildings and the Church of Saint-Loup.
