Perched at an impressive altitude of 2,300 meters, Val Thorens holds the title of the highest ski resort in Europe and serves as the crown jewel of the vast Les Trois Vallées ski area in the French Savoie department. Because of its exceptional elevation, the resort is incredibly snow-sure, offering pristine powder conditions from late November all the way through to May. Val Thorens features purpose-built, modern architecture designed for maximum convenience, with almost all accommodations providing seamless ski-in/ski-out access directly onto the slopes. Winter fat-biking starts at the snowy Place Caron. The ride to Lac du Lou on wide tires is a unique experience in the white silence. At noon we reach Col de Thorens, surrounded by majestic peaks in winter sleep. The afternoon at the glacier requires strength and endurance in deep snow. At the end of the day, we return with red cheeks to the warm lights of Val Thorens.
As Val Thorens is a pedestrian-only resort, your day begins at the central parking garage. From there, you quickly reach the heart of the village, Place Caron. Enjoy the relaxed atmosphere without exhaust fumes. Use the cable cars to reach Cime de Caron, one of the most spectacular viewpoints in the world. On clear days, you can see hundreds of mountain peaks from here. For adrenaline junkies, the Tyrolienne d'Orelle, the highest zipline in the world connecting Val Thorens to Orelle, awaits. An unforgettable experience above the chasms. Back in the village, you can end the day with a stroll through the shops before picking up your car again.

The cable car ride to Cime de Caron offers dramatic views of misty valleys despite the clouds. In the afternoon, we check out the Tyrolienne d'Orelle before ending the day relaxed in the car.
We fight our way through snowy serpentines to the Val Thorens parking. At noon, we stroll across the deeply snowy Place Caron, the heart of the resort. The ascent to Cime de Caron offers an unforgettable panorama over 1000 Alpine peaks in winter dress. In the afternoon, the technology of the Orelle connection fascinates us before we head back through the winter landscape.
