Visiting

The port area is not open to the public for security reasons. However, there is a public parking lot and a footpath along the harbor wall from where large cargo ships and cranes can be observed.

A good viewpoint is the pedestrian bridge over the harbor mouth, from where the entire port operation can be seen. The nearby Kirjurinluoto Park on the river island also features a nice view of the quays and ship traffic.

In the port, mainly bulk goods such as coal, ores and wood products are transshipped. In Pori itself, you can buy regional food and handicraft products like the famous Porin angervo pastry and local textiles.
