Manial Palace

The Manial Palace, located on Rhoda Island in the heart of Cairo, is an extraordinary example of Alawiyya dynasty architecture. Built between 1899 and 1929 for Prince Mohammed Ali Tewfik, the uncle of King Farouk, the palace complex is famous for its eclectic blend of various Islamic styles, including Ottoman, Moorish, and Persian elements, complemented by European Rococo and Art Nouveau influences. The estate consists of several separate buildings, such as the reception palace, the residential quarters, the throne hall, and a magnificent mosque. Particularly impressive is the prince's private museum, which houses a valuable collection of artworks, rare manuscripts, and hunting trophies. Surrounded by a botanical garden containing rare plants from across the globe, the Manial Palace gives a peaceful oasis and deep insight into the cultural heritage of the Egyptian aristocracy during the early 20th century.
