Weather…

Radhošť is one of the most famous peaks in the Moravian-Silesian Beskids, standing at 1129 meters and serving as a major center for Slavic mythology and religion. According to ancient legends, the mountain was the seat of the pagan god Radegast, the god of hospitality, war, and victory. A massive statue of Radegast, created in 1931 by sculptor Albín Polášek, stands on the ridge leading to the summit and has become a symbol of the region. At the summit itself lies the Chapel of Saints Cyril and Methodius, built in the Byzantine style in 1898 to commemorate the Christian missionaries who brought literacy to the Slavs. Geologically, the mountain consists of flysch sandstone typical of the Outer Carpathians, forming a massive ridge covered with beech and fir forests. The view from the top provides a memorable panorama of the Moravian plains, the Slovak mountains, and sometimes even the distant Alps. Radhošť is linked by a popular ridge trail to the resort of Pustevny, known for its unique folk-style wooden buildings. Each year, the mountain attracts thousands of pilgrims and tourists drawn by its blend of natural beauty, history, and ancient lore.
