Šišan is located in the southern part of the Istrian peninsula, located in a landscape of gentle hills. The place looks back on a long agricultural history and has preserved its village character. In the center, the Church of Saint Felix and Fortunatus dominates, with its current appearance dating from the 16th century. The village architecture is characterized by massive stone houses with typical wooden balconies and inner courtyards. In recent years, Šišan has established itself as a center for top wines. Local winemakers like Trapan have put the village on the international map of oenology. Visitors can taste some of the region's best Malvazija and Teran wines here. Just three kilometers from the village center lies the wild coastline with the Bay of Šišan, offering crystal-clear water and secluded rocky beaches, a secret tip for those seeking peace away from large resorts. Another highlight is the nearby Monte Madonna (Svetica) fortress, a former military installation that was kept secret until recently and can now be visited. From there, a wide view over the Kvarner and Cres Island is offered. The surroundings of Šišan are also rich in prehistoric sites, indicating settlement even before Roman times. Access is very straightforward due to its proximity to Pula Airport.
The most pleasant time to visit is Jun, Jul, Sep.
