Pridvorje is located on the edge of the Konavle field and was the seat of the Rector for this region during the time of the Republic of Ragusa (Dubrovnik). The Rector's Palace remains an impressive testament to that era. Also significant is the Franciscan monastery with the Church of St. Blaise, built in the 15th century, serving as the cultural center of Konavle. The location at the foot of Mount Sniježnica gives the place a special microclimate. The fertile soils around Pridvorje are used for cultivating Malvasia grapes, from which the excellent local white wine is produced. Visitors can taste homemade cheese, honey, and prosciutto in local households. Pridvorje is known for preserving Konavle traditions, including the famous embroidery and folk dances. Annual festivals attract many visitors wanting to experience the authentic folklore of the region. For active travelers, the surroundings offer numerous cycling and hiking trails through the idyllic valley.
