Bibići is a small, peaceful place in the hinterland of southern Istria, in the immediate vicinity of the medieval town of Svetvinčenat. The village embodies the essence of rural Istria, with its narrow streets, old stone wells, and the characteristic round stone huts, called kažun, found in the surrounding fields. The place is a first-rate example of the success of ecotourism in the region. Many of the old family houses have been converted into first-class holiday villas that combine modern comfort with historical ambience. Visitors can enjoy the silence of nature here while being close to the region's cultural events, such as the famous Dance and Non-Verbal Theater Festival in Svetvinčenat. The culinary scene in this area is excellent. Local producers offer olive oil, wine, and truffles. The hearty Istrian cuisine can be tasted in the surrounding agritourism establishments, where cooking is often still done on an open fireplace. It is a place that invites you to slow down. The location of Bibići allows for exploring Istria in all directions. The ancient city of Pula with its amphitheater, as well as pretty Rovinj, are reachable in about 25 minutes. This makes the village a good choice for vacationers looking for a quiet base for their explorations.
