Bejuco
Playa Bejuco is a truly spectacular, heavily guarded lesser-known spot perfectly tucked away directly on the central Pacific coast, widely and officially celebrated for repeatedly earning the highly prestigious Ecological Blue Flag national award strictly for its consistently outstanding cleanliness and fierce environmental preservation. The magnificent open beach is a deeply impressive, completely uninterrupted and massive stretch of rich dark brown volcanic sand heavily backed by a deeply dense, spirited canopy of naturally towering tropical palm and ancient almond trees. This completely creates a beautifully raw and deeply natural coastal atmosphere that is wonderfully and intentionally free from massive commercial corporate development or ugly towering mega-hotels. It serves as an absolute, undeniable paradise strictly for highly experienced professional surfers specifically due to its incredibly strong, hollow beach breaks and intensely powerful ocean swells. For those cautious travelers who strictly prefer staying safely out of the rough pounding waves, the completely immense beach is absolutely great for deeply long solitary beach walks, highly scenic sunset horseback riding, and simply absorbing the majestic unbroken coastal views. The immediately adjacent local Costa Rican village is wonderfully quiet and completely authentic. The prime time to visit is during the absolutely dry season.
